    Another part-time team, another pi$$ poor performance…

That was a truly dreadful result tonight, but we won't know just how bad until 4:50pm tomorrow.

We have now struggled inexplicably against two part-time teams, meanwhile the team we are trying to shake off at the top of the league disposed of the same two teams inside half an hour - by playing relentless attacking football from the first whistle, batter them into submission and break their morale. This is what we did last week and look what happened. Tonight? Back to the usual conservative rubbish.

Of particular concern is that Alloa scored and had three other chances that were far closer to scoring than anything we did. 13 corners and we didn't look a threat from any of them!

    Stenhousemuir,
    East Fife,
    Arbroath,
    Ayr,
    Alloa,
More than likely repeat 3 of them during the next batch of 9!

Not good enough to get up!

I can't see it but I've said we have been poor when we have been poor, you aren't making sense

If we are poor and win the game ie Arbroath which makes it 5 wins from 6 and top of the league then that's all that matters at the time, if we are god awful and lose with such a nothing performance from most of the team then it deserves a reaction and pass up the chance to put pressure on.

Wouldn’t say Alloa were defensive and sitting in they did plenty of attacking themselves easy for them to get bodies back when we seen to have a rule we need to pass to every defender before we can move forward we need to play game at higher tempo right from start and not slow the game down ourselves.

    Bang on......

This isn't a new thing. A few seasons back some teams / manager realised that if they let United knock the ball about our own box and don't even try to close down until at least the half way line we were in effect wasting our own time.

Got to be braver on the ball , but unfortunately I don't think we have the players to do it.

I have said in the past that I still think we could get more from Butcher in the midfield , but last night proved his worth whether it be hard tackles or maybe even his talking, telling certain players where to be , what to do etc, he was missed last night. Hopefully back after the break.
