Well, Carlisle United have so far played 3 of the 4 teams currently beneath them in the League Two table. This has resulted in 9 points coming from the home game against Oldham Athletic and the away games at Scunthorpe United and Stevenage. The next crunch match against any of these 4 teams is at Morecambe on December 7th, although it would be good to get a decent result away at Morecambe in the EFL Trophy on November 14th.

A win on December 7th at Morecambe will be enough to convince me that Carlisle United are not going to be relegated, especially as it is now certain that only the bottom team goes down.

However, don't forget that the annual tradition is that in January Carlisle United loses all of its best players, so do not let the current splendid form of the team give you delusions of competence.

I do not believe that Morecambe will go down. They will be in danger throughout the season but I believe that in the last 10 games they will take heavy toll on those teams that have nothing to play for at that stage. They specialise in this more so than most teams. Jim Bentley does OK with his limited resources. He may be a scouser but he is an OK manager and bloke.
