    What does locally born mean?
Is it just around Newcastle and Sunderland or does it apply a little bit further afield like Boro and such?

I say this because Jonathan Woodgate is worth a mention.

Aye, good call on Robbie Elliot. Alan Thompson worth a place on the bench too?

    Fair question.

Umm...I reckon Teeside is too far for local? Although Woodgate would be a good shout if the net was cast a wee bit wider.

Ok so let's call it from northumberland to Sunderland and Woody will have to sit this one out.

Frank Clark at left back,Bob Stokoe at centre back and Wallsend born Albert Stubbins who moved to Liverpool about 1946 and became a legend there,he could be up front in a 3 man strike force.

Gone for an attacking 4-3-3 and a bench worthy of world football, (almost)

Steve Harper, Bob Stokoe, Bob Paisley, Steve Howey, Jack Charlton, Pedro, Gazza, Chris Waddle, Jackie Milburn, Alan Shearer, Bobby Charlton.

Bench. Colin Bell, Michael Carrick, Ernie Taylor, Bobby Robson,Albert Stubbins and Fraser Forster.

And I'm very privileged to have seen every one of them play over a period of 73 years.

Apologies as I've just seen in the O.P. "who have played for us" so you can strike seven of those out.

Could always change it to "Who should have played for us" if our scouting system had been on top of things.
