    A note for Piglet

I would like to congratulate you on your lead. But as you know, teams in football that take a big early lead rarely win the league, and end up mid table. Your disaster is not far away, in fact next Saturday will probably be it. Some of your predictions have left me amazed, it is only the perversity of fate that has put you where you are.

My position has been bushwacked by late goals, incredible upsets, and just bad luck. The championship is my weakness. Having looked at your predictions I can only laugh, and wonder at the randomness of lightening strikes, in your favour. I could ask you to apologise for where you are, and I think its a good idea.

If I could laugh, it would be har har har, notice the extra r, as you deserve an extra letter. You will sink, its the law of averages. When you fall I will be sorry, but will enjoy it.

    Rita Goldberg.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't even look at the league table, to be honest. Am I doing ok?

Each week I pick the results by flipping a coin and rolling dice for the scores, absolutely no thought at all goes into the picks - just to match how Griff selects the games we are asked to predict.

This highlights a problem I have faced throughout my life, overestimating other people. I think they are all like me, gifted, highly intelligent and able. I am being beaten by dice or a coin. I smell a rat though. Using those methods would only produce a 50- 50 result, more likely is that Piglet would be bottom.

Why use those methods and not bother looking at the table, so why bother at all? Piglet is a slippery character.

I don’t think he’s doing that though. He’s looking at previous results and using stats to predict likely scores and allocating them to appropriate games. He’s not an eel he’s just using his head.
