    Barnsley v Swansea

Back to league action next Saturday at Barnsley, where we need to continue our good away form.
Three games in the next week, after Barnsley it’s Brentford and Cardiff at home as games are squeezed together after the two week International break.
Roberts, Rodon for Wales, Celina for Kosovo, Surridge, Wilmot for England U21’s, have all played, whilst Nordfelt was an unused sub for Sweden. Whether Cooper will rest them or rotate the squad for these three games is debatable as he’s tended to stick with a settled line up so far.
Barnsley are struggling after promotion from League 1 last season and their head coach Daniel Stendel resigned on 8/11/19, after the last 10 games this season without a win, and overall just 16 months in charge. Adam Murray has taken the reins in a caretaker capacity.

Obviously that should have read “resigned 8/10/19”
Hoping to avoid the new manager bounce that we seem to encounter with alarming regularity.

Tough run of games, three in a week, and the huge one at the end Cardiff City.
Barnsley will now be unknown due to the change of manager, with unknown selection and tactics so we have to be wary of the unexpected.
No injury worries apparently, besides long term. Will he rotate the players, not sure, but we didn’t rotate between the Charlton and Stoke games in the space of three days and we know what happened there. Some players looked tired and leggy and some looked as if they didn’t want to get injured with the International games in prospect.

Swans very poor again. Outplayed and outfought. Lucky not to lose by three or four goals.
    The bubble has burst .

Some players were given a chance and failed to impress. Surridge was surprisingly poor, I don't think he won one header against their centre-back, he was on his backside more often than not. Also he should have scored but their keeper made a good save. Carroll also came in but he doesn't tackle so midfield was again a problem. We wasted many corners and free kicks, unable to find any accuracy. Celina is a fine ball player but was dispossessed regularly and we do not have the players to counteract the aggression that is typical of this division.
Our "pretty" passing style of football has been sussed and we will have to find ways to overcome the giant centre-backs/ centre-forwards, the high press, the aggressive play, the long throw ins, and the up and under football, if we want to get out of this tough and relentless division.

Well they certainly had the new manager bounce, we played them at the wrong time I think.
It could have been worse, it wasn’t a defeat, we got the draw, so we move on to the next match.

New manager bounce or not Jack, yes we deffo should have beat your lot on Satdy. And we should have won away at the leaders West Brom tonight.

Hi Acido, yes agree you should have won, you were the better team on the day, but against the run of play we had chances to score the winner. Great draw at West Brom for you.
Our recent form is a disaster and we are in free fall. Good luck for the rest of the season.
