    QOS v Dundee Utd

Can't believe there's nothing been mentioned about this match?

Scotland striker Shankland will be heading to Palmerston, - but could he lace Dobbie's boots?

It's a shame that the Q&A session had to be cancelled for Saturday evening, - many are suggesting apathy but there is a major issue which may have been overlooked and that is October holidays, - we are bang in the middle of the school hols, - so quite a lot of people might be returning or just going on that day.

Not so sure that a Saturday night is the best time for such a session? What about 5.15pm - immediately after the match? It would keep the punters at the club, (helping to boost the bar's coffers) suit the player and the manager, - and still allow them to get home for a Saturday night out with their families.

By the same token, - the paying punters could still take part in the Q&A and get back in time to go out for a meal with the wife/ enjoy a curry/ go to a wedding reception / watch Strictly or 101 other things that prevent people coming out on a Saturday evening.

Some people will argue that real Queens fans should drop everything for their club, - but the world's not like that any more, and we have to think outside the box and try and accommodate other people's lives if we are going to maximise our potential.

It’s extremely disappointing that Queens had to cancel the meet the manager night featuring Sir Stephen but by all accounts it was doomed as soon as Paul Riding and John Paul Dykes were involved. I, like several others , searched their names on social media and both are Glasgow Celtic supporters. Not sure why they needed to get involved when we’ve plenty QOS fans who could of helped out on the night. The price has also put several supporters off ( should of been kept to a minimum imo ) and as Jardi has already mentioned the date coincides with the October holiday period.
I actually feel really sorry for Stephen Dobbie as he doesn’t deserve this after all he’s done for the club.
Hopefully something else can be arrange later on in the season and it doesn’t involve others that are only there for their own financial gain.

Yes Arrol that is spot on and it was common knowledge amongst the Queens diehards. that there was a problem and tickets were not selling. If the Tanner Fund gets off the ground they may be able to help with a future event or maybe the Queens Trust would be interested.

Supported Queens 100 years Standard magazine with advert,

Looking forward to this game tomorrow. I notice Dundee are talking about the war of the strikers. My money is on our man to shine. Shankland didn't manage to score against us for the early games so more of the same. Hope we get a decent crowd and Dobs will be desperate to score after having his carving unveiled. 2-0 home win.

    Thank you Ftivano.

Forgot to add: helping at the Palmerston clean ups and helping in the club shop.

Involving either side of the Old Firm will inevitably stir up tensions and effect ticket sales for such events though you would have thought that Queens would have been aware of this. The only way to avoid this is to have neutral hosts if such people exist in Scottish football. Hopefully this event can be rescheduled at a later date but I now have to go to the club shop and get my refund for a couple of those tickets before the United game. Looking forward to the Dobbie /Shankland face off today as well as a good game. Mon the South.
