O/T. Peter Moores given a new two year contract by Notts CCC

    oO
Surprise, surprise. In spite of one of the worst red ball seasons of cricket at Trent Bridge last summer, Peter Moores has been duly rewarded with a new contract.
Had he have been manager of a football club, he would have gone by August. Are we in for another poor season in 2020?

Looking in from the outside, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club on the playing side seems to bear all the hallmarks of a complacent, lazy operation that tolerates mediocrity as the norm. You look at the playing staff - several of whom have been there for a very long time - and you see not just in the attitude but in the physical appearance (of some) a complete lack of professionalism and an apparently justified belief that they will continue to be indulged come what may.

I take it this is not a welcomed development?

Peter Moores is universally regarded as one of the best coaches around and, apart from at international level, has achieved success wherever heís been. Heís also a tremendously hard worker.
There is something inherently wrong within the club but I donít believe Peter Moores is the main problem.
Bad recruitment, poor captaincy, and under-performing players is the real issue but maybe we need to look higher up the managerial ladder than Peter Moores.

Well I thought Moore’s would be the fall guy but looks like NOBODY is going.

They should be going in this order.

    1.Newell
    2.Pursehouse
    3.Moores

But 1&2 are linked to one another so that rules them out of going anywhere and also I won’t bother attending what is the point when we are accepting 1.5 years without a championship win.

People getting excited about “The Hundred” let’s see how excited this “family” event is when they see the ticket prices !
