Surprise, surprise. In spite of one of the worst red ball seasons of cricket at Trent Bridge last summer, Peter Moores has been duly rewarded with a new contract.
Had he have been manager of a football club, he would have gone by August. Are we in for another poor season in 2020?
Disgusting l will not be renewing my two season tickets now its a shambles..
Doesn't exactly inspire confidence...
Looking in from the outside, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club on the playing side seems to bear all the hallmarks of a complacent, lazy operation that tolerates mediocrity as the norm. You look at the playing staff - several of whom have been there for a very long time - and you see not just in the attitude but in the physical appearance (of some) a complete lack of professionalism and an apparently justified belief that they will continue to be indulged come what may.
I take it this is not a welcomed development?
Peter Moores is universally regarded as one of the best coaches around and, apart from at international level, has achieved success wherever he’s been. He’s also a tremendously hard worker.
There is something inherently wrong within the club but I don’t believe Peter Moores is the main problem.
Bad recruitment, poor captaincy, and under-performing players is the real issue but maybe we need to look higher up the managerial ladder than Peter Moores.
