    Don't you?

If you had seen him then you'd see him fall on his a rse at the slightest touch and generally do f ook all.

I hope he gets loads of tap ins, doesn't mean I want him to have a wage for life.

There was no need to extend his deal now. Wait and see what happened at the end of the season. To commit to this donkey when there was no need yet is ludicrous.

Get your point Blood as personally, money spent on Gayle over Austin, Zohore and HRK would have been the much preferred option with perhaps Leko as back up. I still hope we get Gayle as we need a ruthless goal scorer.

That said - not just the tap in yesterday but HRK to his credit unsettled their defenders and his contribution was good. OK as an impact sub and proved this in a few games this season.

Zohore though has offered less than HRK - that's saying something, so on this basis, I can see why the club extended HRK'S contract.

The solution though is Gayle come January unless Austin starts firing!

PS - I have slated Johnstone but again like HRK yesterday - he played really well so credit where credit is due match by match. I am getting soft

I think Zohorre is a disgrace.

    A lazy,useless t w a t in the mould of Luke Moore......a disinterested waster.

We seem to specialise in this sort of w a n k e r,we get rid of one and end up replacing them with another,

    De Freitas

    Moore

    Berahino

    Anichebe

    Lambert

    Zohorre

The list is greater than this if you bother to look and we compliment these fools with “strikers” like HRK who are willing but useless in the goalscoring stakes.

Brown Ideye and Rondon also fit this category.

Our record with forwards is unbelievably poor.

After Andy Hunt,Bob Taylor and Lee Hughes literally nobody else has been worth their salt other than Odemwingie and Berahino in their brief pomp.

Down the years I’m sure you lot like myself have noted strikers who you thought we should sign who’ve gone elsewhere and and flourished.

As usual Mickd you are being very balanced with your negative comments. You are so right and in the last few years alone you could have added probably at least the following to your list
    Blanco
    Samara
    McManaman
    Chadli
    Sturridge
    Burke
    Sako
All shall we say had limited success at the club.

During the last 5 years we have let Wood, Roofe and Roberts go. Obviously we may not have been able to stop them going but I have to agree that our recruitment for forward players has at best been poor in the last few years. I suspect though that this is the most competitive transfer market and for whatever reason we seem to not a great choice.

I am struggling to come up with forward players of quality in this time but can only think of Gayle, JRod and dare I throw in Gnabry! Admittedly two were on loan but you still have to get them to come to the club.

Phillips, Kamara and the on loan Lukaku not do anything for you then?

Phillips yes.....we then got rid of him as soon as we got promoted which was a huge error.

Lamar’s was a one season wonder who couldn’t wait to get away.

Lukaku was a great success without doubt.

Blimey 68 hopefully you are not a defence lawyer.

Phillips and Kamara must have been recruited 12 years ago if not more. Not a strong case to defend our forward line recruitment department.

I agree Mick, I don't see HRK as a prolific striker (obviously) but he is a good impact player and he is useful unlike the list you have there. Maybe the label striker should be changed for attacking midfielder, for the minutes he has actually spent on the pitch (see chris's post) 10 goals isn't a bad contribution. He's scored as many as Austin so far this season who I WOULD expect more from.

Mick posted about three players from years back.........

"Our record with forwards is unbelievably poor. After Andy Hunt,Bob Taylor and Lee Hughes literally nobody else has been worth their salt other than Odemwingie and Berahino in their brief pomp....."

....... I never stated our record with forwards was good since those days, I pointed out three players we got at least some kind of a tune out of up front after Hunt, Taylor and Lee Hughes prior to Odemwingie and Berahino. Two out of the three were especially good for us. My work for the defence will be just fine if you're the best the prosecution has to offer Yarm .
