    Reality check now!

After all the plaudits in recent games the sad fact is that today we were given a reality check. From the moment we missed the penalty, our opponents took a lift from it and never looked back. We have to sort things out before our next couple of games away to Rangers and home to Killie

As soon as we missed that fifth minute penalty you knew that was that. Then in true Motherwell fashion we concede a goal when we have an injured defender on the park...that happens to us every single ****ing time.

Yet again, today has been another major let down in a game where we have had a huge incentive to get the win. Please don't anyone come on here and try to justify today with "ahh but Aberdeen pay bigger wages, big city club, free pass, no shame". None of that stops us from doing the basics like passing a ball five yards or converting a penalty kick, or defending competently.

Today has been a DISASTER and is a major black mark against Motherwell FC.

Shocking performance today. Second to every ball and zero guile on how to break down a team with every man behind the ball, which has been a problem for us for years now and given the way we lost the first two goals we we never in it after that.

Long and Seedorf are not the answer and offer little final third, although the latter is improving, like majority SPL we require to find a striker in the Cosgrove mould. Hylton is at best sub and despite the plaudits season start is cak and SPL beyond his level. Why have wide players when both majority of play ineffective .. get the line and cross or this now a historic tactic (?). We have nothing final third, Scott needs time and explains substitution and Cole should start ahead of Long who IMO looks miserable when playing.

In essence, if I'd been offered 3rd spot at this stage I'd have bitten said offerer's hand off!

We were 5hite yesterday, and likely to be well beat at Greyskull, but that's the way with us. Chins need to stay up IMO.

You're right about the chins, Sieb. It's going to be a roller - coaster from week to week. We've lost our real class player, but if the ones we've got turn up and are on form we'll give most of the other teams a game. If too many of our guys are 'off the boil' in any given week, though, we won't be a joy to watch and we won't win games either.
What definitely needs attended to is our Fir Park form. We seem to reserve our direst performances for home games - not the way to attract more paying customers.
    But nae panic!

Seedorf was in Logans back pocket all day and even when he did get the ball he couldn't decide what to do with it. Can someone with more knowledge about football please explain why he was on for 90 minutes?
