You’d think an 18 year old football player would be bursting a gut to be involved with potentially winning a league championship with his current club. What a great note to be able to add to your football CV you’d think eh? Not in this day and age of young footballers though it would appear, much rather spit yir dummy oot so a move to bigger club can be achieved. Well guess what Banks, you’ll win nothing at all with Crystal phukkin Palace, probably not even get a game for them ya money grabbing wee sh*te.

Scott Banks = everything that’s wrong with modern football

June 2020 according to the press, that’ll be why he or his agent has started this, trying to force United into accepting an offer, any offer, before he walks for free. I’d play him in a bounce game against the first team and tell our defenders to practice tackles on him all day long.

He's too young to walk for free, even in 2020.

Ok maybe not for free as we would be entitled to a development fee, but it would be a paltry amount in the grand scheme of things, especially to bigger clubs

I'm sure it will all come out in the wash, but if we didn't offer him a contract extension before the Palace bid, then that is mismanagement of big proportions. We seemed to react to the Palace bid by throwing contract extensions to lots of youngsters, surely the secret is to identity the potential early and offer terms before they come to the fore. Appere, Banks and Glass were getting touted in pre-season as stepping up to first team. Obviously every case is different, but given Banks performances for Clyde, I am surprised he went into this season with less than a year of his contract to run.
