Hmmmm, let's take a look at the suggestion to give him 7 players on a free.
We would need to bring about as many players in to replace them. It's hard enough to assimilate 7 new players given a complete pre season. Doing that mid season is almost impossible.

I think we have to think of individual players you might like to move on and who we could bring in (afford fee, wages and they want to come here and their club is willing to sell them to us) to replace that player.
The rest is mere guesswork and wishes.

The local boozers would miss Lawrence and Bennett; we need Davies at present as we were thin in central defence before Keogh-gate.

Lawro has (had?) a drinking problem. The club has said so. Now they know about it they will be making sure he solves the issue.
Bennett. Was wasted that night but isn't a player with a hard drinking reputation. Also has a wife and a young daughter at home. I have neither heard nor read of him being a "boozer".
Maybe we could go to a 3 at the back of Wisdom Davies Clark, 2 holding MFs in Shinnie and Bielik, 3 MFs in Bogle Lawrence Fozzy/Lowe/Malone and 2 forwards in any 2 from Martin Waggy and Jack the lad
