Playing with 3 centre halfs has become a little more popular...Wolves play that way..it can work...

But generally that means the team has an extra man in midfield and another striker or no.10.

That's because the wing backs provide the width...

We are playing with two wingers...because they are in no way playing high up the pitch enough to be classed as forwards...sharing the job of the wing backs to supply the lone forward that is naturally a no.10 or an inside forward!

And Bruce keeps doing it! Madness!

And before you try...Rafa's system had Almiron playing as a wide forward/ no.10 and Perez playing as an inside forward/ no.10 both supporting an actual target man!

This is just not EVERY going to work...

Sounds about right, your analysis there. There's certainly something wrong when Joelinton can be so isolated for 90 mins, and generally all our attacking players seem to be on their own when we're going forward.

We also had boring, defensive-minded games under Rafa's reign, but the players could usually go forward and create something - together. Think of Perez, Rondon, even Almiron last season. They got the goals we needed. I struggle to see where that's going to come from now the way we're set up.

Look at Wolves today, manager identified what was wrong, changed it at half-time and lo and behold they came out and hurt us.

Instead of fans having a go at the players have a go at the clueless manager who couldn't get a tune out of Messi and Ronaldo and have a go at the thieving fat slug that thought it was a good idea to employ him.
