I think one thing that needs to be learned from Saturday - if it shouldn't have been learned before - is that playing McCrory at centre-half should be a last resort. He's much more comfortable at left-back and it's somewhat disrespectful not to deploy a natural centre-half in Pierce Bird when Rawlinson or Turner are out. Pierce has shown himself to be more than capable at this level or even the league above, and the fact that he's relatively young shouldn't be an excuse to keep him out. You gain experience by playing games and it's always preferable to play players in their natural position.
