I don't think our current wage bill is at that level, though. That's when we had 2 1st team squads on our books. 10 or 12 of them have been punted now.

    Thank you.

Since this announcement some fans seem to think the current playing squad is earning £4m and when we turn in a poor performance like last night, I’m reading tweets like “£4m for that?!”

We currently have a first team squad of 25. £4m would mean each player taking home over £3k per week which simply isn’t the case (the average at Hibs and Hearts is £1700-£1800).

In that 25 we have; Siegrist, Clark, Stanton, Watson, Wardrop and M Smith who were all signed by Laszlo on contracts centred around a promotion that as yet hasn’t happened and then there’s likes of Glass and Banks who are still on academy terms. Sow is also out on loan to Killie who’ll be picking up a fair chunk if not all of his reported £2500-£3000 a week.

£1500pw a much more realistic figure which puts actual squad wage bill under £2m a year so literally 50% of the reported figure.
