    Walking off the pitch

Kenny Miller saying teams may have to walk off the pitch if they are the recipients of racist abuse.
Wonder what the reaction would be if a team walked off against either of the OF due to sectarian abuse.
The astonishing ignorance and hypocrisy of sectarianism in Scotland never ceases to amaze you.
Imagine the scenes at an OF cup final if both teams walked off as both sets of fans sang their version of sad orange/fenian b@stard

Don’t think clubs/players/coaching staff in Scotland are allowed to protest against being targeted by sectarianism. I know UEFA take action, but locally, in Scotland, it’s not an issue for the SFA/SPFL as it’s not a big problem, and they are proud of the action, and the stand, they have taken against sectarian behaviour

The Old Firm have thrived on sectarianism for 130 years.
Next time we play them we should have a banner "Say NO to Sectarianism"

TBF, I think IIRC from reading, that the proper sectarian ****e didn't actually start until after WWI.

But it's still over a century...

My mistake - I thought it was in 1690.
Glasgow Rangers FC were formed in February 1872 though.

    According to Wikipedia:
Rangers was one of the 11 original members of the Scottish Football League and it remained in the top division continuously until a financial crisis during the 2011–12 season saw an administration event occur and the company liquidated.

So what caused all the sectarian singing Mecca_Sheikh?

I believe the real sectarianism began when dock workers moved from Belfast and predominantly Protestant.
At that time a further influx of Irish immigrants- along with immigrants already here - became involved with Irish republicanism and the Irish self rule.
The Belfast dockers were based in Govan and began attaching themselves to The Govan Gadgies. There royalty was to the crown.
Rasellick already had the Irish connection. The rest they say is Scotland’s Shame
Not the whole reason but it played a big part.
