Which kind of suggests that he was not insured fully against the risk of getting trashed and getting an injury as a result

Which in turn is about what I suggested on the original Lawrence and Bennett thread exactly a month ago when I was told by he who knows everything - aka a delighted TTR - that I knew nothing and was ‘naive’ about contracts.

What’s that expression he likes to use...oh yeah...QED!

    Rubbish.

He broke club rules and as captain brought the club into disrepute. I don't blame Derby for that.
So if he was just injured, he could have sat on his arse for 18 months drawing full pay. At his age, his career was then over at least at this level.

If Derby are taking this route, they are obviously persuing the breach of contract route, as would most companies.
    No sympathy

Forget Acosta...it seems from today’s DT that out main priority in the upcoming window will be, as we all suspected, at centre back.
With Yates’ ‘intervention’ making Clarke a possibly long term doubt and - more significantly - Keogh’s terminal unavailability, this now seems to be the problem most in need of addressing.
Clarke’s absence will present a problem against Preston but you have to feel for Cocu. He must have thought that with the acquisition of Clarke, the return to fitness of Davies and the presence of our, until recently, ‘Mr Reliable’ Keogh, that central defence was one of the more ‘sorted’ areas of the team.
We don’t have bottomless pockets by any means but it seems we’re going to have to spend on an area of the team that seemed least likely less than three months ago.

RA really big problem this I'm at a loss really who we put there Would imagine he will put Bielic there and that knackers the midfield up Preston a tough enough game without us having defensive problems They play the big lad Stockley up front and he's a handful very powerful and good in the air. Watched them on Sky in their last away match . Piss about at the back with them and we will regret it They counter attack very well often with five attacking They are really organised together team always options for the man on the ball ,everything we are not at the moment

Pair Davies with Fozzy or move CD to the left and play Wisdom on the right side. That leaves Bielik free to play the DM role.

Personally I’d prefer the ‘CD/Wisdom’ option although mista reckons that Wisdom was awful for the U23’s recently and he sees more than me.
With Fozzy on the bench we can change things if it starts to go horribly wrong and, in a season of personnel nightmares, it’d be an unexpected bonus if we can get Wisdom back to something like he’s previously proved himself capable of.
Reckon PNE will be the biggest home challenge for a while whatever option we use.
