Their top man missing the derby

Surely after that cowardly assault the SFA will hand down a three match ban

For such a blatant assault by one of the champions no action will be taken. Will the ref mention it in his report to compliance officer?

Why would the ref put it in his report? If he saw it he would have dealt with it, if he didn't see it how can he possibly put it in his report?

It's quite simple, the referee has a debrief after the game with his other officials and the referee supervisor who sits in the stand. They discuss any relevant items, which can include things missed by the referee at the time and may involve other evidence like video footage. If the referee believes he missed something or did not see it properly at the time he can include it for further analysis or report it to the Compliance Officer. This happens mostly when the supervisor has seen something but cannot contact the referee during the game to rectify it, or sometimes when video evidence later shows something that's been missed.
In addition to the above it is also possible the opposition manager speaks to the referee after the game pointing something out that he had issues with. The referee may also include that to see if it warrants further investigation.

    Hope this answers your query?

IT won't happen, even if Shankland gets pulled up for it, Yinited will appeal and he will play in the Derby, but will miss the game after it.
