I was on Hill Top Lane between Wickersley and Dalton this morning and the banking had collapsed at the top end of the road. Half the road had a big mound of soil on it and a stream of water was running from the farm down the road.
Apologies MT, I should have read ALL the posts as this explains why Hill Top Road is closed.

Just been shown a facebook page as I'm not on it, folk trying to drive through Parkgate out of the shopping area and up towards the town centre past Homebase etc. The water is car bonnet high and stupid and I mean stupid people are trying to drive through it.
    Planks of the highest order!

Don't know where they've driven from but when you are faced with 2.5 to 3 foot deep water, the average car just ain't going to drive through that.

Just on Talksport Radio - people are not being allowed to leave Meadowhall for their own safety, until the water levels on the nearby roads drop

    MEADOWHALL OASIS

The River Don has burst its banks at the Oasis side of Meadowhall just hours after the Christmas Concert was cancelled.

I put this up earlier. Loads of bits of fields of fields washing off onto the lane. And with no drainage it's like a sludge river.
