Thread: Butchers booking.

  1. #1

    Butchers booking.

In my opinion was a well rehearsed manoeuvre by the management and team.

Immediately let them all know he was there. They focused on him as much as possible to get a second yellow. It also meant he had to concentrate on staying on his feet and seemed to help him play a little better. He only went to ground once more after that. Some of his footwork was really top class. Well done that man.

The gadges on BT Sport...especially McCoist and that bitter Norn Irish tit that hates Utd...should been red even in 2 minutes....Broonie wouldn't even have been booked till his 3rd or 4th one. Obsessed. A yellow was correct unlike that clown Nelson.

Very pleasing win. What we gonna do if we actually play well for 90 mins. We owe QoS a battering next week I still have bad dreams..

good theory GFP, when you look at it they had 2 players round him all night to get a reaction and it went against them like you say. Like McCoist said there never any danger of him getting sent off that early into the game, the BNB was a straight red all day lang though

Watching the game back just now and how McDaid escaped without anything at the penalty is beyond me. He lunges in at Smith, off the ground, out of control, with both feet and studs showing. Could have easily been a red as well.

TBH, I thought Butch was a crazy to pick up a booking in just the 2nd minute with an unnecessary rash challenge in the middle of the park.

However, if anything it kept him clean for the rest of the match and he played very well.

As did the rest of the team. The Dee couldn't lay a glove on us and we dominated them from first to last.

Well done RN and everyone that played. Fantastic stuff!

Sutton said it should have been yellow and the Dundee player who made a similar challenge later in should have had a red. Let’s not start saying every commentator is against us. Proper old form behaviour.....although Craigan totally is ha

Byrne left a bit on Butcher a wee while later, near the end of the game Butch got him again and left him limping about gingerly

Oh and when are we getting him on an extended deal.. We should be doing that ASAP, he would stroll it in the prem for us should we get there

Not sure how long he's got to run on his current deal. But, yes, if we get promoted, I'd imagine that along with Shankland, Butch is the 2nd name on the team sheet in a premier league Dundee United side.

But, unless anyone has got less than a year left on their contract we shouldn't be panicking about deals ATM.

There is still a very long way to go in this season. The club, players and fans need to be focussed on the one goal now. Obviously, that is the title and automatic promotion. If we can achieve that, then new contracts will be easier to negotiate for both players and the club.

Butcher is definately a key player though. If he wants to talk about a contract NOW, then we should definitely entertain him. I reckon he will be focussed more on what the team needs to achieve just now.though. And it is that attitude that makes the fans apprecuate him so much.
