    Sheffield Wednesday Game - Pre-Match Pint(s)

    Good Afternoon folks!

First time visitor to the forums.

Myself and a mate are coming down to Birmingham (from Scotland) this weekend and taking in the Sheffield Wednesday game on Saturday.

Just wondering if there is anywhere in particular recommended to go pre-match (and potentially post-match) for a few pints?

Both of us will be first time visitors to The Hawthorns and Birmingham in general (in the Baggies end of course).

    TIA.

If you stop off actually in the town of West Bromwich you will find several pubs in the High Street, such as Wheatsheaf, The Sandwell, Old Hop Pole and Billiard Hall (Wetherspoons) From the Billiard Hall it is one straight walk to the Stadium of approx 2.5 miles. You will also come across The Sportsman as you get nearer

The Vine is worth a visit and one of the closest to the ground. (Check it out online and have some Indian food there)
