    Scott whalton

    Playing really well for Northampton.
If our defensive injuries continue can we recall him?

    Robin - I don't know if there's a standard rule.
Perhaps clubs can agree an emergency recall clause.
He always looked like being our best centre-back prospect, but I got the impression he'd slipped down the pecking-order recently.
However, with Magloire and Grayson both injured, who knows?

Only a gk can be recalled or signed as emergency outside of the agreed loan period. As that's the only specialist position. And clubs only have small numbers in any squad.
That's not to say (If we rated him) we couldn't just agree 6 month loans. Not agreeing to a full season. They can always re-sign in Jan if all is well at their parent club.

In all honesty, he had fallen down the pecking order. Grayson grew physically. Wharton didn't. There are superb players ahead of him, that won't get a kick in favour of crap like Elliott Bennett so it's all irrelevant.
