Well, Rafa brought in Rondon. Did a deal with West Brom. Get yourself a goal son.
Hat Trick vs Japan today. Not Japan’s best 11 but still, not to be sniffed at at international level.
Anyone still take him over Joelinton? I reckon we’d be much better off if we still had him.

Rumours that West Ham will go after Rafa if Pellegrini leaves.
Well Ashley could have still bought Robson even if he didn't want Rafa
He didn't want either
That's why we have strikers who don't score and assisters who don't assist
Your player of the season, the highest and (arguably only) goalscorer declares he wants to stay at the club and so you.....................terminate his loan. Priceless club management, that.
Then compound your mistake by buying, at a vastly inflated price (that Rafa didn't think he was worth) a player we DIDN'T NEED because he fit the 'profile' of the type of player we want, i.e. sell-on value.
We needed a CENTRE forward and Joelinton is a wide forward-two very different positions but the absolute pricks in charge of the club thought they knew better????
Now we're left without a centre forward worthy of the name and it'll bite us on the arse sooner rather than later because our defenders are going to stop scoring-and they shouldn't have to shoulder the burden.
Joelinton...1 in 4 wide forward
Carroll...yup, a centre forward but free for a bloody good reason. Impossible to rely on him for anything more than cameo appearances and the odd goal.
Gayle...shit Premier League striker (1 in 5 in the Prem so you can't argue he's anything other than shit in this league regardless of how good he is at Chimpo level)
Muto....oh dear....
Rondon was exactly who we needed and we bloody well had him. And no, neither he nor his striking partner Perez were the very best but they were actually beginning to work very well together and were showing genuine signs of understanding (and they helped get the best out of Miggy). if we'd shown the slightest bit of fucking ambition we would have kept them both and, more importantly, Rafa and could have kicked on.
But no....

When we signed Rondon West Brom fans said he will lead the line but not get any goals and he didn't for the first few month.
I hope the same thing happens with Joe.
Joe might yet grow into the role even though he has played as a number ten.
Three of the Toons greatest centre forwards moved to number 9 from elsewhere on the pitch.
Jackie Milburn and Len White from the right wing and supermac was a fullback.
