Must not have read my post the other day

"1928/29 in second tier we won our first 16 home games (out of 18), lost the 17th and won the 18th, we won the division

1968/69 in the top flight we won our first 9 home league games that season"

And lets not forget the quality of defender that Hamish had for much of that time.

When you read the report he’s actually still well off breaking it - full game against Morton and what was it, 63 mins (?) then against Alloa required so it’s a bit premature to say he’s ‘closing in’.

I agree, but at the time I remember saying that Robson's (I think it was him) throw-in to him was a shocker. Donaldson had just come on as sub, was low in confidence (due to fans reaction) and I think it was his first attempt at a touch, and the ball came at him at pace. You could almost see the fear in his eyes.

Still, no excuse for a professional footballer completely missing the ball and falling on his ar5e.

Don't think Cammy Bell let him forget that it cost him the record either.

It's probably just nostalgia on my part but I say well done Col Donaldson as I like Hamish having that record. Cammy Bell? No thanks.
