When I lived over the UK...I use to be up all night listening to TMS on the radio.......especially loved the wee hours of the morning listening to Brian Johnson and the team.....what a superb commentator he was.......lovely voice.....
10pm on a U.K. winters evening and chance to watch some summer cricket from a lovely country........perfect!
What a superb first ball shot by new opener Dom Sibley........a clean shot for four, shades of Gower’s first ball in test cricket in 78.
A bit of middle of the night radio to catch up with the score.......reminds me of being a kid again.

Yes, he was a great commentator, as was Richie Benaud, unlike the awful Nasser Hussain who Sky foist upon us, a patronising know-it-all. The part of the match that I watched was very slow going, though. So tonight, Question Time or Test Match, which to watch? No contest is it?
Benaud was a master at his craft like Michael Parkinson Kets.
Both mastered the art of knowing when to shut the f u c k up.......the very best commentators and interviewers understand the value of their silence.
Great sporting action and good interviews don’t need interruptions by hosts, the gap they leave allows you to view in awe at stuff that doesn’t need describing or listen with intent to the interviewee who fills the void with an informative reply OR even better, digs themselves into a massive hole by saying too much.
Prince Andrew perfected this the other night.
Screaming commentators and people like that awful woman with the big glasses who’s started doing Newsnight really annoy me.
Ask a question and then interrupt the reply five seconds into the reply.
Richie said that a bloke at the BBC told him about the art of saying nothing in his very early days and that it was the best bit of broadcasting advice he was ever given.
Shane Warne should take heed.
So much for England building a big lead. What a rotten English performance that was taking just 2 wickets. NZ could now easily bat us out of this test.
Root is a s h I t captain.
Two wickets in a days play on that pitch is a disgrace.
Batters content with getting a 40 or 50 rather than knuckling down.
It’s been like this for 6-7 years now and I doubt Silverwood will change this,he’s too close to the players and Bayliss was too laid back.
It needs a hard a r s e coach and a captain with nous.
The NZ no 8 batsman scores 126, what a debacle this test as turned out to be. I cant see this being a one off either. A serious overhaul is needed.
