The lack of any link between the recruitment team and the HC was never more so exposed than it was in the summer and that includes Hecky's time at the club .

Firstly Conway is on the record as saying that they recruited Stendel because his style of play was something they wished to see at Oakwell , the high press , his win record at Hanover greatly enhanced his chances too no doubt .

Anyone who even remotely knows his football knows that the high press style of play is only successful if it has a rock solid defence , Liverpool have risen to the top of the pile not because of Salah or Mane but because they recruited Van Diijk and Alisson .

Stendel inherited a good back four and a goalkeeper who possibly had his best season at the club in Davies .

We conceded the lowest number of goals in the entire football league bar one club and at one stage we reeled off 7 successive clean sheets .

Plenty of plaudits for Moore , Woodrow , Mowatt and Jacob Brown but the back four and the goalkeeper got us automatic promotion because they took significant weight off the rest of the team .

So having identified a style of football , a coach who manages it successfully it stands to sense you'd recruit in a fashion that ensures this style of football can deliver the necessary results .

The lack of quality defensively throws that whole style of football under a bus and Stendel with it , total lack of cohesion between recruitment and HC , not even on the same page .

If the recruitment team understood what the HC requires to play the style the club itself identified then you'd probably have half a chance .

It was fairly obvious that Pinnock and Lindsay would be hard to replace given the understanding they had together , it was bizarre that they thought they could be replaced from minor leagues in europe and Leeds United's development squad .

The smart move was to play the percentages and recruit some older experienced players to replace them , we'd probably still be fighting relegation but we'd be far more competitive in that fight .

As it stands we have absolutely zero chance of avoiding the drop whilst shipping on average two goals per game , not a prayer and the thing is despite 3 HC's this season and heading towards the fag end of November there isn't a sniff of any improvement .

Whilst ever the policy exists there is no new era .

The question is can a new HC eliminate the lack of ability and inexperience at this level for the rest of the season that the two previous HC's couldn't breach ? .

What does he have that they didn't ?

Once the chest thumping and bullet point calls to arms are done with then the players eventually have to take the field .

All will be revealed as the championship heads to many months of games coming thick and fast .

The results will be our judge and jury and sound bites haven't won a single point in the entire history of football .

Good luck to the young lads today .

When we went to having a Head Coach instead of a Manager that was a new era. Ever since its been the same really.

Johnson Hecky Stendel Struber all wanted the job knowing full well how it would work. They come because it’s a step up with more money nothing else.

When reality hits home they all start to moan except Johnson who got the chance to move on to bigger things before he got frustrated.

    The roster needs changing.
We were the better side , that was more to do with how bad Blackburn were.

The fact we still conceded 3 goals and lost shows where the problem is. We’ll struggle to beat Rotherham’s 23point low record

That's all well and good with the they know what they are signing up to ESR ....... however ....

When the results aren't forthcoming and you are in relegation trouble surely the HC can't just accept it , do nothing and eventually get the sack on the back of it .

Surely he has the right to ask for the help he needs , you just can't be so inflexible , things change constantly in football .

Any HC worth his salt wants to get the required results if a plan is failing him and ask for change .

He can ask for what he wants but he’s just a coach at the end of the day, not a manager in charge of other aspects like recruitment. They choose to take the job knowing the set up, inevitably it will always end in frustration as they have little say on incoming signings

The January window will tell us all we need to know.

Tha nivva knows, they could evvan epiphany moment on 6th January and announce, "Hey you guys, were big enough to admit we got it wrong. We are taking advice from proper football people who know this league and ditching the FIFA 20 Game/ video clip/ U23 only method of recruitment and bring in some experienced players".
Hoss will be ruerrin with emotion as the roster changes and brings success on the field.

Bit of feedback from Saturday guys. Formation was more like 4-3-3. Could'nt for the life of me understand why we had Anderson playing in the back line with Halme in front of him and Diaby, especially considering Halme is the far better player and we also had Dougall on the bench! First half they did absolutely nothing and we just huffed and puffed. Anderson gave the ball away under no pressure on the edge of the box and we were 1-0 down. Dougall and Chaplin came off the bench and we looked 100x better. Chaplin causing lots of problems and we were the better team when we equalised and looked the most likely to get a second. They score against the run of play in what I thought was a poor goal to concede. We went again and equalised for a second time. Then the last goal was shocking. Stupid free kick given away in the full back position, what looked like a free header and then Dack scored the rebound from a good save by Radlinger.

If you look at the stats we had something like 62% posession and more shots. They were poor but we simply cant defend as a team. The coach or manager cannot do much about the individual errors that keep cropping up. Injury pending I'd have halme in the back four, dougall back in front. Cavare in at right back and Chaplin for schmidt up front.

However like we've all said, we need experience in January. No if's - not but's. Defensive experience and Anderson shipping off to non-league.
