OT Poll - How do you intend to vote at the General election?

Like you say you are a remainer so I would think many of you are or have come round to that way of thinking
No shock there then.

What have you to fear? Do you think there's a chance that we'd vote to remain? Surely not!

I fear Boris 'running scared' Johnson. Why won't be appear with Andrew Neil (or Julie Etchingham)? If he wants the role of PM he has the responsibility of being open to scrutiny. He even knows now what the questions will be.

Day by day I fear increasingly that we're getting Trump 2.

Too much is being made of this, he avoids scrutiny in general. Yet another reason not to vote for him.

But this reminds me of 2016 when only tories were given significant media coverage , Farage, Johnson and Gove on one side, Cameron and Osborne on the other. Neil is a tough interviewer but is an arch-tory, right-wing journalist so don't be surprised if this story runs and ends with an interview which turns into an easy ride and then Pfeffel can claim how open and brave he is.

Depends solely on your political viewpoint, MM. Was having a bit of a discussion on tw@tter last night with a couple of Notts fans as to which Labour leader from the past 50 years or so WOULDN'T have beaten Johnson. Michael Foot, that was about it. All the rest we agreed would have prob had a decent chance of victory. Leaving Brexit and giveaway manifestos aside, Corbyn simply carries too much baggage from the past, makes him an easy target.

I agree. He should have stepped down imo although I am not sure who would have made a good Labour leader at present. Sadly, I think Johnson can get away with whatever he wants to, a trait I feel he's picked up from Trump.

Will be an interesting debate tonight. Corbyn is on the front foot I think with today's leaked document on Brexit. Johnson has clearly in the past made statements totally at odds with it.

Corbyn has to do 2 things. He has to show that Johnson shouldn't be PM but also that he is more than capable to do the job. However, regarding the first, whatever Johnson does or says I think he will have huge support based on leaving the EU. So many seem willing to overlook anything he does or says, Brexit is the only thing that matters. Regarding the second point, I don't think he'll convince people that he's capable, because he isn't!

Tory? Don't like the leader and am afraid of what policies they will introduce after probably winning based on Brexit alone.

Labour? The more natural one for me, but I don't have confidence in the Leader and would really not want to vote for the local candidate.

Lib-Dem? No thanks, local candidate better but overall, no.

Green? No.

So what do I do? Looks like a vote for the least worse out of the 4.

Alexei Sayle is great, one of a generation of comedians that wasn’t afraid to stick it to a Tory government, something that doesn’t seem to happen anymore, or isn’t allowed to. If satire isn’t dead, I certainly haven’t seen it on tv lately.

Are you serious? Comedians DON'T stick it to the Tories? Seriously what channel are you watching? The only way I have managed to escape the unfunny activism, sorry, "comedy" of the Left is the fringes of youtube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEr...mG0wzGV2gxg7jw Comedy Unleashed is the best for non-left wing comedy). Not a Nish Kumar, Eddie Izzard (who's fall from genius to psychopath is in of itself both hilarious but depressing), Marcus Brigstocke, Andy Parsons, Russell Howard et al in sight. I am struggling to think of a single openly right wing comedian on the tele!

Anyone who defends Labour on here is wasting their breathe. We have a media who have been told to bring up anti-semitism* every (Groundhog) day whilst Boris is given the OK for calling people bank robbers and piccaninnies. And there are vast swathes of miserable old gits who seem bitter and twisted that their lives are ****e and they've achieved nothing. Well try telling the previous generation who had a war to fight!

Some have even taken to running children over on pavements. Thank God I didn't turn to the right as I got older, maybe having younger kids keeps you less bitter. As Sid Vicious said, I've met the man in the street and he's a ****.
