Have players ever stopped for the linesmans flag.

They never have in the past but Sheffields manager complaining about players stopping and VAR saying big Andy just onside.

The ref never blew his whistle so well done Shelvey for carrying on.

True - bit surprised by Wilder´s whinging. Yesterday´s controversey was nothing to do with VAR (unless you want poor decisions to decide matches) and all to do with SU not playing to the whistle. TBH the hole in the defence was so big that Shelvey would´ve scored even if they had played to the whistle.

Anybody see Leicester/Everton on Sunday.Flag went up for offside and the Leicester player scored.Went to VAR and goal was given.Dont remember any noise made then.Is it because the goal was given last night or was it the fact Newcastle scored it.

It's obvious that it was a perfectly good goal and as the ref, who is the man in charge and not the linesman, obviously saw it correctly, did the right thing and was proved right.

In that case Wilder wanted a wrong decision to be made and his team to have an advantage by cheating.

Sour grapes and it will see him in a bad light. He'll be reminded of it every time his team faces a VAR decision.

Massive credit to both Shelvey for playing on and to the Ref for telling the players that's what they shoud do. And, since he told both sides, the Sheffield United players want shooting for stopping. Entirely their own fault.

VAR is in it's infancy - we will get the good as well as the bad - but I am happy it is here. All this bleating about it changing the game-good it needed changing. Maybe the next change could be capping greedy agents, oh that's happening - all good for football.
