No problem at all , but if he wasn't just wearing stockings his injury may not have been so severe

Stenson: given that the story was hushed up by the FA, how could the club have been brought into disrepute, as no one knew about it? For a loss of reputation to happen, the infringement of internal rules has to be put into the public domain, surely???

And it's here where the difference lies; Derby fans dont mind Lawrence and Bennett staying..
These days, like it or not, football clubs are businesses and are run as such.

Keogh was an asset that no longer had value. He was given a choice. Reduced wages and the use of all DCFC equipment and staff during his recovery OR the sack. He chose the latter. The club sacked him. They felt, and still feel, justified in that stance.

Lawrence and Bennett still have value, despite Bennett's op following his recent injury. The club can't afford to let that value go. I wrote in another post on this subject that it wouldn't surprise me to see both go in January. Bennett will now stay at the club, at least until the summer when his contract runs out. He may get a new lower offer a la Keogh with, maybe, some motivational clauses in there but the real reason for a new deal would be to be able to sell him IMO. I still think Lawrence will go in January.

Cynical? Maybe but business is business............... or so they say.

Fingers crossed Lawrence goes in Jan but not sure any club will want him after admitting the reason he drinks

Was that difficulty in coping with his Mam's death? The club have put him onto someone to help with that, I read somewhere.
