As if you hadn’t embarrassed yourself enough. The transfer window doesn’t need to be open for clubs to bid for players. Deals can be agreed in principle anytime but can only be registered when window is open. If this scenario was remotely true, there would be plenty clubs looking to jump queue and get ball rolling before January.

You’re right about one thing though, time will tell and it’ll reveal you were talking nonsense.

I'm taking the easy option and just agreeing with this to save myself the bother of trying to talk sense to Peter. Cheers shedka 👍😊

Thing is though even if he did have a £300k release clause in his contract at that low price there would be dozens of suitors and a bidding war would then ensue so he'd go for a lot more...... Hopefully not for a season or 2 yet though.

How can this be allowed when the transfer window isn’t open 😂

    That’s not true tbh.
£300k would allow all clubs to speak to him and it’d be down to who can agree personal terms.
Just as well no such clause exists.

So if multiple teams offer £300k then it's up to him what team he picks? Surely not? If a team really wants him then surely they'll offer more than this to get him, even if it's an extra £50k.

Sadly no, any team that meets a release clause, gets to talk to the player to try and sign him, they dont need to offer a penny more.

I would just like to thank Shankland's agent for gracing my thread.
