Across the Globe trend is away from Labour

This is true for more and more countries.

Australia's Labour lost the "unlosable" election recently and part of the problem lies is in its initial success.

People hate some high profile Union stand-over tactics and bullying such as occurs in the building trade.

Plus more and more blue collar workers are on the higher payrole rates (the resources sector, for example).

They are doing very nicely thanks very much and don't much care for Unions.

it's a sign of the times.

Most people are right in the middle of the political spectrum; neither Right or Left.

Polarising tactics just don't cut it any more.

People want a government that is for all people; a central party.

And unless there is a major outside threat just want to get on with living.

Interestingly, its a fact people vote parties out of office rather than vote parties in.

You have to have made a right stuff up to lose office.

Ask the poor buggers standing on draughty stations in the SE, forlornly attempting to get to work, just how toothless they are. Maybe it's time another Tory PM drew some more teeth. Someone has to stand up for the worker's right to get to work.

Ask the poor bugger who thanks to Northern Rail, took one hour longer to get from Manchester Airport to Bolton than it did to fly from Dusseldorf to the same location? The railways in this country are crying out to be nationalised, but that dream just died a living death.
