The thing that worries me with Starmer, and I do like him, is his inherent dullness. I struggle to imagine him exciting people or getting normal voters to warm to him. Much as I dislike Johnson as a person and think people will sorely regret allowing him this opportunity, he has likeability and charm. As did Blair and that was a huge factor in his rise.

Before running for leadership she had an identity politics agenda like many in the Labour Party.

She wrote a book with Caroline Lucas.

It was be all racism-this and ***ism-that if she wins.

Can you find me any evidence that Nandy has been particularly vocal about identity politics other than loosely defending the rights of such minorities to exist and have their own voice? I’ve just done a quick search but struggled to find anything that could lead anyone to conclude that she has an ‘identity politics agenda’.

She said the worst thing about the Miliband years were the mugs they produced pledging to control our borders, she's in favour of open borders.

Her Dad is a Marxist who was partly responsible for the introduction of race laws that have curtailed free speech, she would curtail it further.

You need to dig a bit further under the surface.

I fail to see what her dad has got to do with her, Boris Johnson’s sister is a remoaner who voted for swinson so what? It’s irrelevant

But yes I get your point about her view on open boarders but she’s still better than Keir RLB and Thornberry for reasons iv already quoted.

She also alluded to the fact she supported open door immigration in a recent interview

What are you like you old dog?! You make a big old statement that Nandy has an identity politics agenda, and when asked for evidence, provides nothing of the sort and instead throws in two other reasons why she shouldn’t be elected.

    1. Yes most Labour party MPs and members are advocates of free movement and this puts them at odds with the many heartlands towns who have justifiable issues with influx of low skills workers and no integration policy. Whoever is successful will have to reconcile their prior beliefs with public opinion in those towns if they are to reconnect. I don’t think that right now is where any of the contenders will go into depth about this as they are trying to appeal to all wings of the party in order to get into a position where they can rethink central policy.

    2. Her Dad may be a Marxist, but can you show any evidence that she too is a Marxist? As Hilary has shown, children are saient beings who can move away from parental thoughts.

However, where I would agree is that the Mail/Express/Sun will throw these points at her if she was elected and stands (if that wasn’t your ‘dig a bit further’ source for this info in the first place!). But this will be the case of all the candidates – what have you and your ‘sources’ (lol!) already got on Starmer and Thornbury (RLB will be easy meat for you and the press so don’t worry about her!)

And your evidence for her IP agenda is??

There are many questionable issues concerning how Labour goes about things. Just wait until Momentum sticks its oar in!

Doesn't the fact that Starmer is a white, male, multi-millionaire knight concern you? That hardly seems like a profile that will resonate with your average left-leaning Labour voter.

Not as much as him being a bit uninspiring. But happy to hear him in debates if they ever get around to any!
