Momentum rule the roost and cannot be dislodged. They will pick one of their cohorts. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see a breakaway new party emerge. Many Labour MP's feel trapped in a regime they have no influence over. This is what happens when the general labour voting public shows no interest in local politics and the loony left take over the constituency offices.

Isn’t this a next labour leader thread? Seems like it’s becoming the same as General Election

    Starmer the Blairite's choice.

    Long-Bailey or Rayner Momentum's choice.

Dave Miliband or Burnham the outside choices to come back and save the party.

There's very little doubt the battle for control of the party is going to be brutal .

However it's not all about Momentum by any means , McCluskey and the unions pay the Labour bills for starters and money talks .

It's good that Corbyn stays on for the short term and serious and robust discussions need to take place before a new leader emerges .

No point rushing in to this thing as they've done previously , five years is five years after all and there's feck all they can do about it .

If the party goes back to the Blair type model then Starmer would or should be a contender but after a bit of thought today I'm struggling to see how Labour could operate with that kind of success outside of the EU .

The country is a very different place to what it was in the mid 90's .

If you want someone authentic and strong then Jess Philips should be on the ballot box and it's possibly time Labour gave a women a go .

I expect the membership to drop considerable as the Corbyn project is as dead as death is final .

People as a rule aren't too enthusiastic about association and two times election losers .

Financially the party needs donors , union money isn't enough , donors need a reason to donate and that means reaching out beyond the left wing perspective .

I don't agree that momentum call the tune , there's more going off than that .

Kiss goodbye to it Amimal. Brexiteers side with the Tories and killed off Labour. It will be a very long journey back.

If Johnson delivers Brexit and does a half decent job he will be back for a second term. Former Labour voters who 'loaned' their vote to the Tories will owe him a second term.

Well if that's the list of potential candidates to replace Corbyn as leader then the Labour party might as well switch the lights out and say goodnight. What a feeble shower they are.
