We have a 2.0d Jaguar F-Pace and it is brilliant. We looked at the Volvo XC60 and Range Rover Sport or Evoke. Much more for your money with the Jaguar and some good eals on a new one which we bought in Sept 2017. My commute in to work is around 20mph motorway driving (Currently at a 50mph limit) and I get around 57mph on average.

I could afford a Rolls Royce, but opted for a Peugeot 107.. Great value for just two of us.. Average MPG 75 and only 20 quid tax.. Why the phook people pay silly money for cars is beyond me if they don't need them.. Just showing off.

    .

depends what your needs are - Saffron....to me an SUV is a 4x4, but then, not all SUV's are four wheel drive. Do badges bother you, fashionable ?...Skoda v Audi....Are you looking at new or used etc etc.

I like them simple, meaning....the less electronic gadgetry the better, I dont need a touchscreen, and the less plastic or lightweight alloys the better....then there's the repairs, that if I like, I can do/solve without the use of some complicated machine that'll give me numerous fault codes - something built to last, not like many of todays 5yr-10yr warranty throwaways......course, there'll come a time when, the powers with an agenda, clear the roads of all the older stuff - so then, it's back to a horse and cart, unless they outlaw them as well !

    Good Luck.

I need a 4x4 as the last mile is via a New Forest single track tree lined road that can get quite slippy.

Which SUV suits you best depends on the reason for wanting a SUV. Most of the ones available offer some form of 4x4 capability. However if you intend going off road or driving in snow or similar then a 4x4 with an electronic 4 wheeled drive system may not be good enough for your needs, a Landrover or Jeep may be a better choice.

Repeat: A total no brainer! Buy a DACIA DUSTER. All Renault, Nissan parts, goes anywhere, looks good and they are holding resale value really well. A whole lot of SUV for under 20 grand.

Didn't the Skoda Yeti get Top Gear car of the year 3 times?

No idea C_M, but the son-in-law has a Duster, we have a Stepway and they are silly value for not a lot of money. Do the maths?
