Queens forced Dundee Utd into playing for time throughout the second half, - which shows how much respect the league leaders have for us.

It was a frustrating game in many ways, - but I was pleased with the efforts of the whole side.

We didn't create much apart from the fantastic move involving Dobbie's cross for Hamilton and Holt's second half header, - but if the latter had gone in, - the Utd nerves would have been shredded.

One fan with a Newcastle accent who sat behind me observed on many occasions that if you had turned up for the game with no prior knowledge of the teams (apart from the fact that one was clear at the top of the Championship,) - you would pick out the blue side as the league leaders.

I have to say that for a team running away with the Championship I was disappointed with Dundee United's approach in the second half and if we had a full and fit first team playing against them then there would have been a different outcome. The constant time wasting was difficult to take from a spectator point of view and I wonder what those Geordie sounding fans thought of that?

The Geordie lad wasn't at all impressed with their antics and left at the end of the official 90 minutes.

You are spot on Spike, - a fully fit El Bak would have ripped Connoly apart with his pace. He scored an absolute cracker of a header and was quite superb at spreading the ball about, - but he couldn't have coped with a high pressing game.

What should Queens have learned from Saturday's game? That they are a match for anyone in this league, - if they turn up determined to give it a go.

Let's hope he gets a run in the first team squad.
