    Liverpool Transfers

After the battering they took from us on Sunday they have gone straight into the transfer market and purchased two Japanese stars, Nikatelle and Robamotor.

An old one I know but still makes me smile.

Woody, at my age it takes an effort to get out of bed. Gone nearer 80 than 70 today.

Happy Birthday Abbo! Shame the boys didn’t reward you with a decent performance yesterday.

Thanks Norton, at least in the close season I can sleep at night. I lie there mulling over what could and should have been.

Many happy returns old son. Almost there myself. When I was a kid my Dad told me that there was nothing like a sporting life to keep you fit and healthy and vigorous in your prime years. The only problem being it would murder you in later life! And oh how right he was. Every bone in my body aches for one reason or another. Still, wouldn't have changed anything for the world.

Woody having played Football, Rugby, Athletics, Cycling, and taught Physical Education for twenty plus years my body is now paying the price. When you are younger you think you are invincible, playing Football for the school in the morning, and Rugby for the local club in the afternoon. Then just for a change a cycle race on a Sunday, or a twelve mile cross country run.

I was playing first team Rugby for Stafford when I was 16 and in one incident I took a boot in the mouth. Two days later I had most of my teeth removed. I had a double hip replacement at forty nine, told they would last about ten years. Twenty eight years later they are still ok. Left shoulder is knackered and having a prolapsed disc a few years ago causes some concerns with my back. Having said that my heart rate is still only 52 at rest.

As long as I wake up every morning, life is good.

Happy Birthday Abbo. Sorry it's a bit late, but still well meant. I think we had this discussion before, that there is less than 4 months between us. The passage of time is just frightening!

Hope you had a really good day. Sincere best wishes.
