    Blackpool Post Match Thoughts

A Happy New Year to Millers everywhere and what a start. NYS form turned around with a hard fought win against a fellow contender and up to 2nd (5th). Adding to the delight another solid performance from our talisman Richard Wood and a winning goal from the often maligned Dan Barlaser. Will we still be happy to see him sent back or recalled and sold? With a comfortable league position and hitting form can we relax and enjoy the FA Cup on Saturday and prospects of a 4th round tie. Surely not!

    Thoughts?

It needs saying, so I'll say it. WARNE OUT!! Only 2nd in the league! Not good enough!! As for tactics - why doesn't the keeper EVER

score a goal? What's that about? Get a keeper-scorer coach in. Quick, before we get promoted.

So good to watch the Millers just now. Still get a bit nervous with the occasional loose pass in dangerous areas but otherwise if they keep the ball on the grass they are paying lovely football. What a wonderful goal from Barlaser. Glad I’ve got my Oxford tickets. Think there might be a high demand. UTM!!

Wow! Not just a home win, but two over the festive season and an away win as well - with a squad recovering from injuries too - very well done Millers please keep the momentum going and no injuries in the cup game

Doesn't matter now. But their goal deffo offside.
When the corner was taken it was a foot outside the D as well.
    A couple of penalty shouts.
Would have been a travesty if we drew.
Snake n pygmy pie spot on.

Didn't think it was a foul against Woody
There were 4 offside from the resulting free kick (which had to be cleared for the corner due to their presence)
Looked a yard offside from the resulting corner

    But Hey Ho

Well-deserved win. Great Millers goals, although slightly slack marking sometimes, including for Blackpool's goal. Olosunde did quite well as a stand-in left-back though . Some good passing moves by the Millers, especially for the first half-hour. We failed to cash in on several half-chances, and had a couple cleared off the line, but we got the three points in the end. Scored from a free-kick for the first time in months, and with Barlaser in good form, we looked quite dangerous from dead-ball situations throughout. Let's hope that it lasts. Sponsor's MoM was Woody, but I would go for...

Comfortably the better team today. The side looks better balanced and they are moving the ball well. There was a 20 minute spell early on where we looked like we were going to run riot.
Iversen. Thought he should have done better for their goal but other than that fine.
Thompson. Looks solid at full back like he's played there forever, uses the ball well too, a proper footballer.
Olosunde. Did well playing on wrong side.
Ihiekwe. Solid performance against tough opposition.
Wood. Have to eat my words, we are a better team with him in it, and he was superb today.
Barlaser. Again I'm munching on my critism, he was good Sunday and even better today, my MOM. Cracking free kick
Crooks. One or two sloppy / over ambitious touches that lost possession but we look more solid with him in the midfield.
Wiles. Fish out of water where he was put I reckon we would have been better with Hastie on from start.
Ogbene. Frightens the life out of defences, speed, skill he's got in spades a bit more quality with the final ball and he'll get us promoted.
Ladapo. Full of life and a right handful for defenders, we're still not giving him the right supply?
Smith. Good goal, nice centre forward header
One final gripe, where do we get the officials from. I cannot believe how bad they are. Their goal, first it was a foul on Wood not on their man, then they were offside from the free kick, and then off again when they scored. Did anyone notice the refs face when he saw the replay on the screen.

Barlaser learnt from Sunday. Deserved win kept pushing forward 2nd H. Crooks abit sloppy, get Lindsay up to speed against Hull. Time to move Lamy in front of Hastie whose shown nothing since opening couple of games for us. Lamy on the right, Ogbene on the left. Not being over critical just want us to be the best we can. Couldn't fault rest of the side, substitutes.
