Slightly off-Wolves topic, but is this the most bizarre transfer story ever (if not, please post it) ..... From the BBC transfer news page:

    Hamann's Bolton U-turn
That reminds me of Didi Hamann, who signed for Bolton after being released by Liverpool in 2006. But the German midfielder changed his mind after popping into a local fast-food joint and struggling to understand the Bolton accent.

Manchester City were willing to give him a two-year contract, rather than the one-year deal Bolton offered, and they agreed to pay Wanderers compensation.

No games played, £400,000 profit for Bolton.

One that’s been gaining then losing momentum over the last couple of weeks... looks like we’re close to agreeing a deal with Olympiakos for Portuguese winger Daniel Podence for a fee of 16.9 million, apparently he’ll be flying in for a medical tomorrow.

Is Podence able to play in Europa League? He was with Olympiacos for Champions League, where they finished third in the group and were set to take on Arsenal in the EL Round of 32.

The word seems to be that Bennett could be allowed to leave in this window. He hasn't been in the squad for the last few games.

I still rate him, however in Nuno we trust.

Confirmed now that Podence has signed... https://www.wolves.co.uk/news/first-...ns-for-wolves/

Norton, I rate Bennett as well. He doesn't say much but gets on with the job. He was a free transfer so he hasn't cost us any thing. His age is possible against him in the eyes of Nuno.
