I rarely comment on political threads, but the way 'Trump', America, or whoever holds the real power, have gone about this whole business has left me feeling sick with rage in my stomach. They have been spoiling for war in Iran for many many years now, trying to provoke them with sanctions and whatever else.....based on nothing but greed, covered under the guise of the corrupt war on terror.
How dare they/we attack a country....unprovoked....again....and try and justify it similar to the way we did with Iraq. Iran isn't a country akin to Afghanistan, they are a power with a strong military and (just like Britain did in the face of powerful tyranny) they will fight back....which is exactly what the psychopaths in power want, of course.
As someone else has said, we are in for the long haul now because the great US have us by the gonads. The whole thing stinks, the US don't even try to justify it anymore....they've got loads of expensive technology which needs to be justified, and they'll do whatever the hell the like and try and make it sound like they're fighting for freedom from terror blah blah blah and the people will lap it up.
Until the bodies start being flown home....

Spot on. Trump may well have gained a fair few votes in the upcoming election, but he has probably given birth to a whole new generation of terrorists in doing so. No problem, if he gets re-elected he can always bomb them as well.

By 1979 there were enough other parties with sufficient self interest to fuel any dispute you care to name.
