What a complete waste of time. I hope this motivates our players to see them off in normal time.

Hardly a surprise as it would be money against arguably the biggest side in the tournament and a better chance of progressing

I reckon we should just "not win" this game. A replay, and another round would play havoc with our league fixtures. Fylde and Torquay would both be re-arranged, plus further advancement would also affect the televised match.

Will be interesting to see what sort of attendance we get on Saturday. With Notts in good form of late, it shouldn't fall too much below what you'd expect to see at a 1st or 2nd round FA Cup tie against non-league opponents but I'm struggling to see the point in carrying on with any cup competition anymore. If Notts are to make it to Wembley I'd want them to do it in the play-offs, when it actually matters.

Yes I can remember when the FA Cup and the League Cup felt just as (if not more) important than the League, but that just isn't the case anymore and hasn't been for over 20 years. Notts being involved in the FA Trophy is just depressing. If Saturday was being offered as our last ever appearance in this competition, who wouldn't take it?

I don't think we should be too disrespectful to the FA Trophy. It has a history going back 50 years and winning it carries at least some prestige. This isn't the Checkatrade/Daffy Duck Cup, which lost any remaining credibility when they started using it to give Premier League youth teams some exercise.
