    Declan Gallagher interest?

Media sources suggest that three English clubs are interested in signing Declan Gallagher for a fee being quoted in the region of £500,000. He still has 18 months left on his contract and has just become a Scotland internationalist. We shouldn’t be in any hurry to sell him unless they are prepared to pay in the region of £1,000,000 plus when you see what’s getting quoted for guys like Scott McKenna. IMO Gallagher is an integral part of our team and to try and replace him would cost a fortune.

The keystone of our defence. We wouldn't collapse if we lost him, but where we end up in the league would very probably be influenced if he left. He'll ultimately leave, but it would be helpful if it was the summer rather than now. £1m isn't too much for the player, but, unless they issue a flat refusal to sell, the club has limited control over what 'the market' will offer. That said, there seem to be a few clubs looking for a good central defender, so who knows?

If he has a 2nd half of the season similar to first his market value should rise. Inevitable IMO he won't be with us for season 2020/21. It's all about maximising our transfer fee now.

We'll struggle without him as our defence isn't the best. Yes, he might well leave and he deserves a decent move but not during this month unless silly money is offered and by that I mean £1m +. If we accepted £500k now we'd lose a good part of that as we slipped down the league.
