Fancy having a worse record at the start than a man taking over a doomed club heading for relegation for 10 games then a newly promoted team for 12.All the money Ashley has spent on his players for Bruce as well.Just wait until they gel,we might get 35 percent possession,COME ON !!!!

I'd rather take over a Benitez coached team with the 5th best form in the league than a McLaren coached team heading for certain relegation.

Bruce has had it easier yet still Rafa has the best record.

Rafa had over 3 seasons to hone his own squad to end up going backwards.

Bruce has had half a season to get a portion of fans off his back and negativity against him down to a manageable level and then to get the players Rafa coached into his way of thinking, whilst also trying to integrate the players Rafa discarded, back into the fold, on top of having to try and integrate new signings also into that fold.

The football's been hit and miss in terms of enjoyment and not too different from Rafa's in the same earlier period of the season.

What Bruce manages from this point on remains to be seen. It's not written.

I think Bruce has done a decent job as it stands and I'm more than happy to see him put more of his stamp on the club for the remainder of this season.

From that point on I'll see where we're at in terms of league position and whether the squad appears to be gaining in stature and quality and whether the mindset of the dressing room appears positive .
This all remains to be seen because, like I said, it's not written yet.

But it's looking reasonably good so far, given the circumstances of change and injuries..
    Rafas squad went backwards???

He had them top 6 form from January to May

How is that going backwards from the season before??

Did they finish top 6? or did they finish 10th the season before and 13th the season after, even though he'd had just over 3 seasons to implement his so called genius coaching and tactics, him being a super world class messiah and all that.

The man had his ego stroked by pundits and some fans. He rode along on his past and is doing exactly the same for Dalian Aerbin (Yifang) .
    What a joke.

Baffles me,Rafa took us backwards? So we were relegated, came back up and finished 10th and 13th.How is that backwards? The only backward is Wilf.
He is best ignored.Rafa took us backwards but Ashley is running the club well. His mackem logic is beyond stupid.
