    Although personally I think it's simply because he played for a team in Nottingham associated with St Andrews Church called the Garibaldi Reds who played in the same red and black kit (which has also been proven). Although like Botafogo in Brazil wear B&W stripes because of Juventus (and thus because of us, with one degree of separation) it's likely that Nottingham team took the red and black to rep us and Forest.

    On another stripes-related note, one thing we discovered while making this film was a photo of Herbert and Tom Savage (who took the stripes from us to Juve) together. You can see the photo in the film and I think we were the first people to prove Kilpin and Savage knew each other and played in the same football team together over in Italy.

    Cracking watch , thanks for the link. Lucky enough to have been to the San Siro a number of times, including to watch the derby, and just seeing it and hearing it again in the video makes the hairs stand....
