Just look at that lower right hand column.
If we made the play offs, the patterns of colours would suggest that we'd make the final but probably lose to a top 3 side away.
The remaining games in white however, heavily stacked on the right below our current position, hints that we'll miss out altogether as we don't win away to teams beneath us.

That tells me we don't know how to deal with playing away against lowly teams that raise their game against us. I don't know if it's because they pack their midfield, we are too cautious and try to "respect the point" or we just don't get ourselves motivated playing in some of these lowly, desolate footballing outposts like Maidenhead. Whatever it is it's hampering our progress.
Neal Ardley has been in and around this level of football long enough that this should not be an issue, he is not a rookie but he is coming across as one. Given the players at his disposal compared to the opposition he is definitely underachieving and showing naivety repeatedly.
It’s certainly flummoxing for sure. Those away results to teams below us will be what scuppers a top 3 finish. What’s more frustrating is that just 3 points saved from the 15 dropped away to those bottom half teams would now see us in 4th spot on GD. And this is why there is still some hope for a top 3 finish. After 5 straight wins Harrogate were undone at Wrexham yesterday and hopefully at the beginning of an indifferent spell. Yeovil have now failed to win in their last 3 league matches as have Bromley.
That said Boreham Wood are currently have their best run of the season and are now unbeaten in 13, but that does include 7 draws and Halifax are on a run of 5 unbeaten. We still have Harrogate and Yeovil to play at home, the latter on the last day of the season, that will not be one for the faint hearted!
