There seems to be an outpouring of grief about this guy, but I must admit I'd never heard of him.

I’m not a basketball fan but he’s one of the all time greats.

It’d be like Messi or Ronaldo pegging it.

Helicopters eh! You'll never get me up in one of them. If that rotor blade packs up, its the end, even a plane can glide when the motors fail. I also wonder why anyone wants to go up in a hot air balloon.

Just said the same to my son.

That little rotor on the tail is just as *****.

One sheared nut or faulty part and you’re toast.......I have resisted any opportunity to go up in a helicopter and shall continue to do so.

Would the American media make the same fuss if it happened to either of these ? (God forbid )

No different to if it happened to Ben Stokes or Ian Botham here.

Not everyone’s sport is one that transcends every country on earth.

I can’t stand basketball but I knew the guy was an all time legend same as say Babe Ruth in Baseball which is a sport I can’t stand or understand.

Another case of a pilot taking chances in terrible weather either due to his own stupidity or being put under pressure by the superstar he was working for.

I listened to the air traffic flight conversation with the pilot and they were warning him he was flying too low.

    An avoidable tradegy.
