Kilday & Semple played well together at Ayr.

Typical Queens to not show annoyance in the official statement about Brownlie leaving . Here we have a club who have signed Brownlie on a pre contract but cant wait till the summer and instead have continued to pursue an under contract player. Instead of being a bit pissed off , there is no mention of Thistles conduct at all. This is typical us , Qos, the nice, friendly club., seen as a bit soft .

I don’t think we should of let him go until we had a replacement in.

Would be surprised if the boy gets a game before Semple and Kilday once things settle down after the window closes but
Magic sees them in training every day so will just have to wait and see how it pans out.

Devine was brought in as extra cover for Kilday , Brownlie & Semple. That was until Brownlie’s head was turned on Friday by another approach from Partick to move ASAP. We’re still short at the back.

I think the partnership will be Kilday and Devine.
Semples been too frozen out to convince me the management team rate him.

i do think semple is by far our best centre back if we can get him at his fighting weight and full fitness ,so i think we should persevere with him ,i would drop him from the first team for the moment and put him on a blood and guts 2 month pre season style training regime with gym work added ,and working closely with a dietician ,then bring him in and get him match ready for the last couple of months run in .

I was impressed with Semple at Somerset, enough to give him a chance of a run in the starting 11. Cannot do more than scoring a goal and playing the majority of the game.

Amazed that Magic did not play him last Saturday as he MUST have known Brownlie was offski to the Harry Wraggs. As it turned out big Darren - who had been pretty reliable this season tbh - had a nightmare and another 3 points went doon the drain.
