Just A Minute's silence for Nicholas Parsons

It's sad to hear that Nicholas Parsons has died. I found 'Just A Minute' to be very entertaining from the era of the likes of Kenneth Williams (a great wordsmith) to Paul Merton.

I used to listen to just a minute on the radio in the sixties. Me and my brother were sent to bed at 8pm and we used to put the radio on low, so our parents couldn't hear it. We used to laugh and joke till we got tired, some of the happiest memories I have. im sure it was on later in the evening. There was sorry ill read that again, the navy lark, and other comedy programmes.

I used to listen to Friday night is music night, which is still on today. In the 60s music hall music was played with real orchestras. All of that has gone now, forever. The music was brilliant.

Nicholas Parsons was part of it, a true gentleman. That Englishness has gone.
