    When the rumours of Lee P coming started I assumed that meant the reports of Ferguson’s issue with the medical were surmountable. I could see some logic in signing LP on a short term contract (just about) as cover for Furlong if Ferguson was off.

    However, cannot understand how or why we bought him if Ferguson is staying with us for this season unless they are so concerned about the Ferguson injury that they cannot see him playing again this season. I don’t buy the argument that we have to get him fit for a move away. For me just put him on garden leave if he isn’t mentally right to play.

    I think the main problem will be where he is mentally. The transfer window completely ruined Berahino's progress and I would imagine the disappointment of "losing out" on a Premier league opportunity and boat loads of money will mess the kid up no end.
