    I was at that game and afterwards hitched a lift home to Sanquhar. Bloke gave me a lift and asked all about the match. Then he asked if I recognised him ..... didn't know him from Adam ....... it was the bloody ref ...............red face and nothing out of ten for observation for yours truly.

    One noticeable thing from our squad in 1972 is the amount of players plucked from the juniors . Not so many now

    Yeah an amazing number of juniors.This was before my time but I take it is Tam Bryce Mk 1 signed from Johnstone Burgh.Was the great mk 2 not also a product of Johnstone Burgh or just from the Burgh of Johnstone? Any stattos know?

    The great Thomas Bryce might have played for Johnstone Burgh when starting out but he signed for Queens from Stranraer. I remember him scoring in the thrilling SC 6-4 game for the Cleyholers against Queens in early 85.
