Don't get me wrong fire. For all my alternate opinions on var I think the format/rules are all wrong for football
a decision should takes no more than 30 seconds
There's two answeres too offside.
1, as it is now, Off is off
2, no offside rule.
Same with the handball rule. Why have they complicated it. If it hits a hand it's handball no matter where his/her hand is.
In the near future we should be looking at line sensor's instead of linesmen. Even a washing line would be more use than the current crop of linesman. Why have they started to not give decision until the ref makes one! There's always several incidents per game where the linesman is 5 yards away but the ref is 30 yards away and he does fek all till the ref indicates who's ball it is..
I'd go the other way with handball. Scrap it altogether except in clear and obvious cases of intentional use of the hand e.g. diving to stop a goal, handling to break up a pass
That's the problem Cam. Your way is down to interpretation.
Bear with me on this. Klopp had a simple idea
Make the line on var wider.
This gives the foot or elbow a bit of grace.
Then if owt outside the line .offside.
Football is about goals.
Goals decide the result
Goals are what the fans get excited about
However with VAR 9 out of 10 incidents are about disallowing a goal rather than allowing one.
